MClightsYou guessed it! #ProcrastiBlogging time –  I’m giving myself an undeserved break right now, and hopefully you guys will find it worth it!:P Don’t worry, I promised myself I will go back straight into my essay as soon as I get some creative juices flowing.

I thought I’d share with you my quick and easy BUT yummy Potato and Cauliflower bake recipe (and some extra random thing). BakeMy Potato Bake! With lots and lots of cheese! I’ve made this a few times now and each time I’m trying something different.

The main ingredients include: 3 Potatoes, Half a Cauliflower, Cheese, Onions(Optional), Chives (Optional) Cream or Milk, Butter (optional).

It is actually a really simple dish and you can mix it up however you like. You can even buy ready made mixes for sauce, but the flavour really comes through with the cheese. The cream/milk/butter is all additional to make it taste richer BUT it’s perfectly fine and probably healthier without it.


  • Preheat oven to approximately 180 degrees Celsius.
  • THINLY slice up the potatoes and cauliflower. If you don’t have much time to bake it, I’d suggest blanching them or slightly cooking them beforehand (after chopping).
  • Then you layer potato and cauliflower with cheese between each layer you do till you reach the top. And Voilà! Done!
  • If you DO NOT cook your ingredients beforehand, it may take up to an hour and a half (depending on how high the heat is and how big the serving is.
  • If you HAVE cooked your ingredients beforehand, it could take up to 20 minutes! (Really, you just need to keep an eye on it and see how toasty the cheese is getting).

RoastAnd hey, if you’re using an oven, you might as well utilize it and make a yummy delicious snack out of roast vegetables. These include carrots, pumpkins, onions and potato topped with garlic, paprika powder, honey and oil mixed through. Herbs would be a nice finish. Approx 45minutes -1 hr to cook.

This is a book I got from my lovely friend, Christine. It recommends a whole list of great eating places in Melbourne! I’m slowly making my way through it and it’s really g reat so far. It’s separated into a few different categories such as ‘Rise & Shine, Midday Munchies, Eat & Run, Sweet Treats & Speciality Eats, and Tea Time’Watsons Blotting Paper! I’m really into this because my face tends to get pretty oily throughout the day. It’s a handy way to absorb some of that oil when you’re out on the go. Watson’s is the equivalent of Priceline here. I know certain types of blotting paper are ‘better’ because they are made out of certain ingredients, e.g. The Body Shop, but it can get quite pricey. If you’re skin isn’t too sensitive, then cheaper brands probably won’t make too much of a difference to you if you moisturise and cleanse your face well.

The Q-Mart. Next time I’ll be trying to Sugar Cane drink! Definitely not good for you with all that sugar, once in a while is okay though right guys?  Better than soft drink … ;) Mart
